Berlin Museum Island

Berlin's world-famous Museum Island lies next to the Berlin Dome between the River Spree and Kupfergraben. The five buildings on the island accommodate different museums as the archaeological collections, the egyptian collection, art of the 19th century.

The “Star” under the museums on the island without any doubts is the Pergamon Museum opened in 1930.
The museums on the Island will reunite all ancient collections which where spread over East and West-Berlin during the seperation, after his complee renovation in the year 2015.

The five buildings on the Museum Island are:

Altes Museum
The “Alte Museum” contains the Collection of Classical Antiquities “Antikensammlung”

Alte Nationalgalerie
The „Alte Nationalgalerie“ shows arts and artefacts from the 19th century, as  Caspar David Friedrich, Johann Gottfried Schadow, Carl Blechen, Adolph Menzel, Edouard Manet und Paul Cézanne, Lovis Corinth, Max Beckmann

Bode Museum
Collection of Sculptures and Museum of Late Antique and Byzantine Art and Numismatic Collection can be seen there.

Neues Museum
after beeing restored and opened again in 2009 it accommodates the Egyptian Museum with its highlight the Nofretete and the Museum of Pre- and Early History.

Pergamon Museum
The Pergamon Museum ist THE STAR among the museums on the island and shows the Collection of Classical Antiquities, contains the Museum of Islamic Art and Museum of Ancient Near Eastern Art

Dalí - The Exhibition in Berlin Kurfürstendamm

In Berlin Charlottenburg at the Kurfrüstendamm 26 the Filmbühne Berlin is located. There you find a permanent exhibition with pieces of Salvador Dali.
More than 400 pieces of this genious artist, who also turned art into a spectacle, more than any other artist, and thus made it popular and accessible. “Surrealism is for everybody” was his idea.
More than 5000 squaremeters features Dalí´s graphical work.
In 1935 Salvador Dali himself published the “Conquest of the Irrational” and wrote: “The fact that I myself, at the moment of painting, do not understand their meaning, does not imply that these paintings are meaningless. On the contrary, thei meaning is so deep, complex, coherent and involuntary that it eludes the simple analysis of logical intuition.”

The Wallmuseum was founded in 1962 by Rainer Hildebrandt, next to the famous Checkpoint Charlie where the eastern and western world met and split the world.
The mueseum shows the rising and falling of the wall, the incidents happened at the wall and the border during that time. Also shows the escapes and remembers the escape helpers who risked their life when helping others to escape.
The Museum demasks the distainig system of the former GDR.

The Wheel Berlin is quite sure to come

Das Riesenrad Berlin ist “so gut wie sicher”

Noch nicht gebaut, aber schon eine Attraktion: Das Riesenrad am Zoo ist Anziehungspunkt auf der Immobilienmesse in München.
Er ist guter Stimmung, aber nicht gut bei Stimme. Ephraim Gothe hat sich am Dienstagmittag fast schon heiser geredet, über diverse Berliner Bauprojekte. „Ein Hingucker, ein besonderes Bauwerk“, sagt er zum geplanten Riesenrad am Zoo. Der SPD-Baustadtrat von Mitte stellt das Projekt mit dem Investor Michael Waiser von der Great Wheel Berlin GmbH vor.Das Publikum staunt, in München. Das Riesenrad, auf Simulationen in allen möglichen Perspektiven gezeigt, ist einer der Anziehungspunkte auf dem Stand von Berlin und Brandenburg bei der Immobilienmesse Expo Real. Noch ist es eine Vision, so wie das komplette „Mediaspree“- Projekt am Osthafen oder das künftige Viertel am Hauptbahnhof. Aber das Riesenrad fasziniert Besucher besonders, als vielversprechende Attraktion. Darüber lässt sich viel reden und schwärmen.
